I don't want to be at work...

I saw Jumper last night and if it hadn't been for Jamie Bell's sense of timing, I would've written the entire movie off.

Ugh, terrible. Tacked-on emotional development (nice adaptation from the book, screenwriter!) and pretty much a show pony for the effects, which weren't that spectacular.

Hayden Christensen has exactly one expression and he drove me nuts. I could say something similar about Rachel Bilson, but I admit I think she's a little cute, so I'm far more forgiving of her. Samuel L. Jackson, really. Really. Come on, dude.

Problems I had: This is a high-action movie and no one dies, wtf? I want some payoff, please.
The pacing was pretty abysmal. It too long for major action to start and the plotline about the 'paladins' was too undermined and not at all cohesive.

One good thing: Any reference to Marvel comics is going to win me over.

But seriously. Light action fare, I get it. And it was entertaining. I did honestly enjoy Jamie Bell's performance. But it's not going on any of my favourite lists for this year (best movie I've seen this year is still Atonement).

Also, the ending sucked.
